Lynnzee Brown is a Haitian-American artistic gymnast and gymnastics coach who made headlines by becoming the first gymnast to represent Haiti at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Born in Missouri, USA, in 1998, Brown has Haitian heritage through her father, which allowed her to represent Haiti on the international stage.
Brown’s journey to the Olympics was marked by significant achievements and challenges. She was a standout gymnast at the University of Denver, where she earned numerous accolades, including being named the Big 12 Conference co-Gymnast of the Year and Region 2 Gymnast of the Year in 2021. Despite suffering two Achilles tendon injuries in 2020 and 2022, Brown made a remarkable comeback to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Before her Olympic debut, she competed at the 2023 World Championships in Belgium, where she posted competitive scores to secure her spot in the Games. In Paris, she achieved her personal best score in international competition, a 48.832 all-around total, while proudly representing Haiti as its sole gymnast.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Brown joined the gymnastics coaching staff at Penn State University in 2023, transitioning from her role as an athlete to a coach. She also pursued a master’s degree in communication management at the University of Denver.
