Community Shows up in Large Numbers to Celebrate the Life of Media Guru, Fred Pinard.

Fred Pinard (August 19^th, 1956 to November 1^st, 2015) The Haitian community came out in large numbers to celebrate the life of one of its most prominent figures, Fred Pinard. On November 1^st, 2015, Fred passed away at home leaving behind countless family members and friends. His wake was held on Friday, November, 13^th at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Brooklyn, NY where he was a parishioner and active member. His funeral was held the next day at the same location. The service was attended by his immediate family, close friends, his media colleagues, Assemblyman Mathieu Eugene, artist King Kino and some prominent figures of the Haitian community. The whole funeral service was broadcast live on the airwaves.

Born in St. Marc, Haiti, in 1956, Fred studied at Ecole Frère Hervé before moving to the United States. Fred is best known as one of the first media personalities to bring the beauty of Haiti to the diaspora through his camera lenses at the show, Tourist Lokal when there was no such post as Minister of Tourism. The show ran for 21 years and this month would have marked the show’s 22^nd year anniversary.

Fred lends his voice and knowledge as a contributor to several radio stations such as Radio Soleil, Radio pa Nou, and hosted his own show, Show Pluriel on Radyo Comedy FM.  Fred was also a certified tax filing specialist who worked with individuals and businesses.
