On Thursday, March 31, 2022, Zenglen utilized their album release press conference for “BRAVO” to officially introduce Minouche Chouloute, affectionately known as Shoomy, as the newest member of the band.
Born in Port-au-Prince in 1991, Shoomy embarked on her singing career at a young age. Her rise to prominence began in 2017 when she participated in the Digicel Stars Talent Contest, quickly becoming a familiar name across Haiti.
Following her stint in the spotlight, Shoomy joined an all-female musical group named “Artiz.” Although Artiz has not been prominently featured in the media, Shoomy continues to work tirelessly to carve out her niche in the music industry. Her versatility allows her to adeptly handle a wide range of musical styles, both local and international.
Shoomy’s journey saw her performing at the Haitian Compas Festival in Miami in 2018 after winning the “Sing at Compas Fest” contest. That same year, on May 17, she debuted her first single, “Tounen.” She has collaborated with well-known artists like BIC, Patrick Handal, and Chango, and in 2021, she released her second single, “Lap sedal.” Recently, she performed at the sixth edition of the PHMA in North Miami.
Now in 2022, Minouche Chouloute serves as one of the lead singers for Zenglen. Known for his knack for spotting talent, the band’s leader, Brutus, clearly made a strategic choice in adding Shoomy to the lineup. As Minouche Chouloute steps into this new role, fans and fellow musicians alike are eager to see the fresh dynamics she will bring to Zenglen.
