Will Pipo Finally Find His Place in Nu Look?

OpastaffBy OpastaffAugust 1, 20102 Mins Read
is Pipo, a well-known figure in the Haitian music scene, recently transitioned from Beljazz, a band he co-founded with Ralph Menelas, to join Nu Look. This move comes after Nu Look’s lead vocalist, Gazzman Couleur, abruptly resigned nearly a year ago, leaving the band on the brink of disintegration.

Maestro Arly Lariviere’s decision to bring in Pipo is seen by many, as a strategic move. Pipo’s exceptional vocal abilities are well-regarded in the industry, and he is perfectly poised to meet Lariviere’s high expectations. However, replacing a charismatic singer like Gazzman Couleur is no small feat. Arly will need to leverage Pipo’s unique talents effectively to make a significant impact with Nu Look’s upcoming releases.

Despite Pipo’s potential, his journey is fraught with challenges. His track record shows a pattern of frequent band changes, raising concerns about his commitment and stability. This perception is compounded by critiques of his stage presence, often described as lacking the ability to genuinely connect with audiences—a stark contrast to Gazzman’s engaging style.

Moreover, Pipo’s perceived aloofness could hinder his acceptance as Gazzman’s successor. To succeed in this new role, he may need to enhance his public relations skills and perhaps seek professional guidance to improve his public persona.

The longevity of Pipo’s tenure with Nu Look may well depend on how well Lariviere can accommodate and appreciate a lead vocalist of his caliber. This partnership’s success will not only test Pipo’s ability to adapt and grow but also Lariviere’s leadership in nurturing and retaining top talent.

As Pipo steps into this critical phase of his career, the pressure is on. The success of Nu Look’s forthcoming album could very well define his legacy in the band. Should he fail to deliver, it could be detrimental not only to his standing but also to the band’s future. However, if managed well, Pipo’s inclusion could indeed work wonders for Nu Look, validating Lariviere’s gamble in a highly competitive music industry.
