K-dans Release New Single on Their 21st Anniversary Titled Sa Se Lanmou.

After a brief hiatus from the United States’ music scene, the Haitian Konpa band, K-Dans has slowly but surely been making a comeback this year. Under the new management team, VIP Experience Marketing & Consulting Firm, they’ve been performing throughout the United States in what seems to be an official comeback this time around.

Today, on the band’s 21st anniversary, they’ve released a new single titled Sa Se Lanmou and now are in the process of mastering their 8th upcoming studio album titled J’ai Appris. The band will be launching a promotional campaign in the weeks to come in preparation for the release of the album which will be out after Carnival 2016. The band just wrapped up their second video to the album as well. Unfortunately, due to the political instability in Haiti right now the band will not be celebrating their 21st anniversary in grander style but they’re already planning a big event for their 22nd anniversary.

Listen to lead singer Jude Jean giving a description of the song.

In their earlier years, k-dans was hailed by critics and fans for not falling into the category of unmerited hype and for pushing boundaries of Konpa Music. K-dans have always been known as the one of the most musically sophisticated and versatile bands in the Haitian Music Industry. Their controversial lyrics and melodramatic videos made them so unique; the industry didn’t know which category to place them and in turn the band was given its own category, Konpa Love.

During their 21 years of existence the band has produced several hits and released 7 studio albums, 1 the Best of K-Dans and 5 lives to date; Nap Chill 1996; S.O.S 2000; Nou pa Nòmal 2001; Big Boss 2003; Bagay yo Chanje 2004; Easy Fit 2006; Nou fè sa Déja 2012.

What to expect on the upcoming album?

The album will touch many subjects. Of course in true K-dans form the album will consist plenty of “love songs” however the album will also feature songs addressing some of the current issues that are plaguing Haiti and the future of the children that are just wandering with absolutely nothing to do. Without going into too much detail; one song titled “Explique m” will be sung in Q&A style.

K-Dans was formed when new generation pioneers Papash & Zig-Zag merged to combine their efforts and talents back in 1994. Many of today’s not prominent musicians were members of K-dans at some point in their careers such as Mickael Guirand and Carlo Vieux of CaRiMi; Mac D Talon of Harmonik, and many more.
