Maybe I should have written, “Did Mia Lopez receive a verbal beating from Roberto Martino?” since it’s not fair to let the whole band suffer from one person’s lack of good judgment. Anyhow, during last night’s broadcast of the carnival, Roberto had some choice words for Mia Lopez after she declared Djakout Mizik the winner of Day 2.

Mia proved once and for all what some people have been saying for years couldn’t be further from the truth. GO, MIA! Sakapfet.com has been T-Vice’s fan site for many years, and a lot of people in the industry felt the site could not be trusted as a media entity because of their close affiliation with the band.

For those who were living under a rock this past week, let me brief you on what transpired. Mia Lopez was doing her annual carnival live feed down in Haiti when she pulled Ti-Michel of Tropidisic for a chat about Djakout Mizik and Krezi Mizik. During the interview, she mentioned that she thought Djakout Mizik won the second day based on her personal assessment and the crowd’s reaction. Roberto Martino was watching at that time and attempted to IM Mia, who had her laptop open.

As Roberto was sending all of his profanity-laced comments to Mia, Ti Michel was right there reading the whole thing. Roberto started off by telling Mia to tell Ti-Michel he’s a sousou, and when Mia refused, that’s when he started to serve her the Colon$yet manman’w, Kalanbe$, Sousou, and even told her she’s a fake wannabe media (the irony) and that his microphone is louder than hers (one of his favorite phrases).

First and foremost, I don’t condone any man calling a woman out of her name like that. Knowing Roberto’s parents and how they can rip you a new rear end on any given Sunday, we see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. What’s weird about Roberto is he’s always a cool guy in person whenever I’ve seen him. I actually like the guy. But no way am I going to give him a pass for what he did.

Mia had nothing to do with your ongoing spats with Ti Michel, and even if you guys are buddies, you have a business and so does Mia. It was very selfish of you to try and take advantage of her friendship.

Ti-Michel… oh, where do I begin? He’s a loose cannon, and we’ve all come to accept that. He’s not afraid to open a can of whoop a$s on you if remotely provoked, and keep in mind he doesn’t even need to be provoked at times. Most of us with common sense steer clear of him when it comes to matters that may get confrontational. Prior to this incident, Ti-Michel allegedly physically attacked Roberto, which we’re certain Mia was well aware of due to their relationship—heck, we all heard about it.

Mia, on the other hand, I won’t be too hard on her because she’s endured enough from this whole fiasco. But one thing for sure, all of this mess could have been avoided had she simply closed the laptop. As a publicist, your job is to protect your clients from these types of situations. Even though in your statement explaining what had transpired, you kept emphasizing how much class you have, your actions say otherwise.

In conclusion, let all the spectators, myself included, go about our business and stop being nosy. At the end of the day, T-Vice and Mia will be right back together again because if their friendship is as strong as we know it to be, then this little issue shouldn’t change that.
