In 2009, on the eve of the Compas Festival, rumors began swirling that Georgy would reunite with her former Zin bandmates for a nostalgic performance at the festival. These rumors turned out to be true, and Georgy delivered a memorable performance. The stage interactions hinted at a possible reconciliation, but ultimately, nothing materialized.

The successful performance led Venus International Promotion to produce “Zin Reunited,” featuring Georgy and several other former Zin members. Despite the seamless execution of the event, off-stage dramas unfolded. Reports surfaced of Georgy behaving like a diva, throwing tantrums and deviating from prior agreements regarding her wardrobe, insisting that her designer be compensated directly.

Happy by the initial success, the promoter attempted to take the “Zin Reunited” event on tour. However, the tour did not replicate the success of the original event and was subsequently canceled.

Seizing the moment, Georgy released a single titled “It’s Too Late” on iTunes, aiming to build anticipation for her upcoming album. Unfortunately, the single did not meet expectations. Further controversy arose during the “Zin Vs Phantoms: 20 Years Later” event when contract negotiations between her management and the promoters fell through, leading to her absence from the show. Later, Georgy accused Zin maestro Alex Abellard of manipulating her into a sexual relationship when she was 16, below the age of consent in New York State. Abellard denied the allegations, claiming Georgy had misrepresented her age.

These incidents raise questions about Georgy’s role in her own career trajectory. While the Haitian Music Industry (HMI) is predominantly male, and often unwelcoming to female artists, one must consider whether different choices could have helped sustain Georgy’s career from its promising beginnings to the present.
