Fabrice Rouzier, a renowned pianist, producer, and entrepreneur, has been a pivotal figure in the Haitian music industry for over two decades. His extensive career is highlighted by his contributions to over 300 albums, significantly shaping the “Nouvelle Generation Konpa” in the 1980s and 1990s. Rouzier’s influence helped launch the careers of prominent Haitian artists such as Emeline Michel, Michel Martelly, Beethova Obas, Boukman Eksperyans, and Masterdji, among others.

Today, Rouzier remains an influential force in Haitian music, serving as the pianist and a staff musician for the group Mizik Mizik. Rouzier’s musical journey began at a young age, learning piano from his aunt, Marguerite Borno, a concert pianist in France. His career took off in 1984 when he started working with legendary figures like Hans Peters, Bobby Denis, and Patrick Dejean. By 1986, Rouzier was a founding member of Mizik Mizik, which quickly made a mark on the Haitian music scene.

His versatility as a musician is evident from his extensive discography, which includes three albums with Mizik Mizik and spearheading the revival of the “Troubadour Creole” style. Rouzier’s work has consistently blended musical innovation with cultural homage, a testament to his deep roots and respect for Haitian musical heritage.
