How to Clean Crabs

- Prepare for Cleaning: Wear gloves and gather a cleaning station with a bucket of cold water.
- Stun the Crab: Place the live crab in ice water for a few minutes to calm it.
- Remove the Shell: Turn the crab on its back and lift the tab (apron) at the belly, then peel off the top shell.
- Clean the Inside: Remove the gills, mouthparts, and internal organs. Rinse thoroughly under cold water.
- Trim Legs and Claws: You can trim any unwanted parts like leg tips.
- Ready to Cook: Once cleaned, the blue crabs are ready for your recipe.
