Haiti SOS Benefit Concert Brings Star Power to Support Hurricane Relief

New York, NY, September 2008 The Haitian music community is uniting for a powerful cause with the Haiti SOS Benefit Concert, set to take place at SOBs in New York City. This landmark event aims to raise crucial funds for UNICEF’s hurricane relief efforts in Haiti, following devastating storms that left thousands in need of urgent aid.

The benefit, organized by New York Haitian Music Industry (NYHMI), will feature an all-star lineup spanning Haitian Konpa, gospel, rap, ragga, racine, jazz, and dance. Fans can expect a once-in-a-lifetime night of performances from some of Haiti’s most iconic and rising talents.

Scheduled to appear are legendary and popular acts such as Zin, Phantoms, Carimi, Nu-Look, System Band, Emeline Michel, Cubano, Do-La, Ti Bob de Nazareth, So Fresh, Tempo, Kontwol La, Obed Jean-Louis, Chardavoine, Dadi Beaubrun & Lataye, Tokay, Bigga Haitian, Markus Schwartz, Sesa Konza, Jimmy Carter & Diesel Leo, Ipnotik-Groove, Zouti, Bizi, Cruz Kontwol, Les Frères Polycarpe, Les Frères Desronettes, Haitian Mass Choir, Les Frères Bénédicte, Felina Baker, First Klass, Mr. Reo, Omega, Buyu Ambroise & The Blues in Red Band, Doudou Chancy, Negmaron, Nadia Dieudonne & Feet of Rhythm, Mikerline Dance Group, and Raram.

The concert will run from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., followed by a post-concert gathering from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. at SOBs, giving fans and artists a chance to continue celebrating Haitian culture while standing in solidarity with those impacted back home.

Adding to the energy of the night, some of New York City’s top DJs including Untouchables, Polomix, and Hi Profyle will provide music throughout the event, with production support from Total Ambiance Productions.

Admission requires a minimum donation of $30.00, with every dollar going directly to UNICEF to support hurricane relief efforts in Haiti.

The Haiti SOS Benefit Concert is more than just entertainment. It is a rallying cry for unity, resilience, and support. With an unprecedented roster of performers and the full support of the Haitian diaspora in New York, the event promises to be a night to remember and a beacon of hope for Haiti.
