In a shocking incident early Saturday morning, members of the popular Haitian band Djakout Mizik were targeted in an attempted murder. The attack occurred around 1:00 AM as the musicians were en route to a scheduled performance. According to reports, an unidentified assailant in a Honda vehicle opened fire on the van carrying the band members as it approached the venue. Last night at Bicentennial Park, the festival kicked off around 6:00 PM, drawing in a sizable crowd by 10:00 PM.
