T-Vice would first like to thank the National Carnival Committee which reiterated its invitation to the team to participate in the 2016 Carnival. The group has worked tirelessly for a month to create a carnival song which is perhaps one of its very best. Due to the climate of palpable uncertainty currently hanging over Port-au-Prince, in addition to the impossible task of reaching an agreement in time with the Carnival committee, the Djakout #1 group regrets to inform that it will not participate in the carnival festivities this year. Haiti’s outgoing president has released a brash pop song jeering at his critics and aiming sexually suggestive lyrics at his main target, an award-winning female journalist. In an unusual move by a sitting leader, President Michel Martelly released during what is likely his last week in office a track called c— Haitian Creole for “Give Them the Banana.” The song is credited to Sweet Micky, the stage name he used as a pop star before being elected. Born to a Haitian father and Guyanese mother who loved music, Brun’s influences stretched from the percussion-heavy Rara and Afro-groove music of his native Haiti, to disco and synth pop. One of the most interesting players on The Bachelor this season is Jubilee. She was very quiet at first, just taking in the scene around her.
