Baptista Lugendy St-Hubert, best known on the Rap Kreyol scene under his artist name “Baky” was born on May 6, 1991. Originally from the south of Haiti, more precisely from the city of Les Cayes, Baky was raised in a family musician who bequeathed to him the legacy of rhythm. Inspired by the Haitian reality, Baky composed what would become the bestseller in 2012: ‘Paske’m se ayisyen’. For him, the Kreyol Rap is a reflection of most of the frustrations of young people and a medium to evacuate these frustrations.
‘Paske’m se ayisyen’, his first song was written in very special circumstances: At the end of her high school years, Baky wanted to continue his studies in the Dominican Republic. After hearing about the living conditions of some Haitians (see their brutal death) there, his mother worried, gave an end of not receiving his request. Baky felt extreme feelings of anger and frustration that he channeled onto paper.
