Born in the City Mirebalais, in the Island of Haiti, Stanley Pierre migrated to the US with his family at the age of 14. Stanley later completed high school but it wasn’t until he began attending college did his love for music begin to flourish. Armed with his love for music and the passion to make it as a musician in the Haitian music industry, Stanley decided his dream would materialize faster if he moved to Florida, the second capital of Konpa; there he began entertaining his new found love for music. When he initially started up this path, his instrument of choice was the drums. However, as his love for music grew, so did his choice of instrument. “My love was, and will forever be the, MIC.” -SP Since then, Stanley has had the honor of working with some of the highly talented musicians and bands in the industry.
Eklips, which produced Tapaj was made up of many well known musicians today including, Richie of “Zenglen”. Tapaj eventually became the very popular group of the mid 1990s -MASSAJ as the bands lead singer. Massaj released their first album May of 1995 on which Stanley both sang and composed. The album did very well upon its release and shared the same success with the release of their second album in 1998 with the hit “Cheche Lanmou”, again which he composed and sang. This album went international and made a name for Stanley, his first milestone of success. In 2002, Massaj was converted into 509. 509 released their first album in September of 2003 with the popular song “FAKE” and July 2005, 509 released their 2nd album “509 Police.” Through all the transformations, Stanley still found time to contribute his talent to several other projects. Projects like: Loraj Mistik, and the very renowned project of the Miami Mini All Stars 2000, Jahfe, and Djazz La, just to name a few.
Participating in these projects enabled him to realize that his talent has been appreciated and recognized by other well-known musicians. During these musical adventures, he still managed to continue pursuing his education. This paid off in 2002 when he obtained his Bachelors in Criminal Justice and later in 2005 he earned his Masters in the same field. “I am a strong supporter of education and feel that in the midst of pursuing what I love (music), I would also obtain what I certainly need (education).” In October 2006, Stanley ‘Toujou Dosil’ released his first solo album, ‘Love Stories’, with Kyafa and Couleur Entertainment’s Record Label as executive producers. The first single released from the album was “Li Pa Zanmi’w”; a response to Nickenson Prudhomme’s “Zanmi”. The single has gained international recognition and is doing well in New York, Haiti, Paris and the Antilles. This project is a collaborative effort of many friends with numerous producers: Ronald Paulin, J. Beats., Nickenson Prudhomme, and Ralph Conde who have always supported him and believed in him not only as an artist but also as a friend. Contributing musicians on the album include: Gazzman Pier (Couleur), Alix Nozile, Carlo 509, Daniel Rene, Ronald Paulin, Shedly Abraham, Markenson St. Fleur, Ralph Conde, J. Beats, Kenny Desmangles, Ti Harold, Esther Fortune, Roserbie Theoc, Eli Lapointe, The Group Faranheit, Guipson Balthazaar, and Young Rich, just to name a few. “Music is love and love is music. In the realm of music, neither exists without the other. Life without MUSIC is like an unplugged microphone- It’s functionless”, he said.
