Born on September 30, 1976 in Port-de-Paix, Haiti into a musician family, Michelot Billy Philome began playing music when he was nine years old.The bass was his first instrument; but he was largely self-taught. As Billy moved to Saint –Louis du Nord, he landed gigs in piano and abandoned the bass. Billy showed talent at an early age, after living and performing with the group Flanm Mizik Machine at 9 years old, he emerged from the underground to claim increasing recognition as a young musician. His music is a document of his allegiance to a totally free, high-energy, and deeply a mixture of Compas and R&B form. As his style matured, Billy continued to concentrate on playing Compas in the wake of his success with Sinik Mizik when he joined that band at 14 years old, and his recordings and performances retain an industrial edge. Billy’s contributions to the young generation’s music grew into a full-blown collaboration with King Posse when he was 21 yeas old, in on which he received joint credit.

Later D`zine invited him to engineer and play keyboard on a track they were recording. After recording two songs, the band hired him as their keyboard player. Through his music, as well as in his conversations with others, he speaks about his faith which he names as his primary source for musical inspiration and respect for life. He does so despite popular perceptions and regardless of whether or not his views are in other musical genre.
After the break-up of D`zine, Billy Philome decided to form his own band Platinum which gained amore or less success during couple months. Billy put the band on hiatus to pursue other musical interests. He collaborates more and more in the production area and other bands became very interesting to him because they discovered that most of the things that he has done is such a good match. He played with several bands like Hangout, Zenglen, Disip, and Bel Jazz.
For couple years, he recorded a series of music for his group Option, a band that he formed in 2012. Billy Philome received national attention, and recording offers came steadily. He produces an African artist called Keysha Rudy and many more. As he prepared to assume the maestroship of his new band Option, he also laid plans to produce some R&B artists to present a complete performance of himself, because hard work is the catalyst he you want to succeed in this business.
