Yvon Cine was born in Petion-Ville Port-au-Prince, Haiti on January 21, 1951 to parents, Mr. Nicolas Cine and Mrs. Eva Lise Cine; one of seven children. He attended Chez Les Fréres De Petion-Ville Élémentaire and Lycee Francais Secondaire. He immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1970 and continued his education at Columbia University, Manhattan, New York.
In the early 1970’s Yvon was a founding member of the most famous renowned Haitian band – Tabou Combo. He later became the manager of the group for a short period of time during which he created Cine Disc Music Records label. As a musical philanthropist, Yvon created the Super Stars Music Machine and the popular Haitian band King Posse including the first all-female Haitian Rap musical group – 4×4. Mr. Cine was the Executive Producer for the group Ram which recorded the song “Ibo Lele” for the Philadelphia soundtrack, an Oscar award winning film.
Yvon loved spending time with his family and enjoyed being at home as much as he enjoyed traveling the world. Yvon loved his community and was a father figure to many. He loved music and enjoyed all genres of music. He loved cars and sports, especially loved the game of tennis and was an avid tennis player. Yvon also enjoyed playing billiard which he engaged in almost every day with friends and neighbors over the past several years. Yvon Cine is survived by his four children: Rodney, Rachele, Vony-tza, Vanetza, and grandson, Nicholas. In addition he is also survived by his six siblings: Mrs. Yolande Cine Pamphile, Mr. Jean Robert Sine, Mr. Arnold Cine, Ms. Mona Cine, Ms. Jocelyne Cine, Mr. Pierre Andre Cine (Also a former member of Tabou Combo) and Ms. Burklyn Alerte Cine.
