Nestor AZEROT dit Nesty, singer from Martinique, spent most of his career abroad alongside very talented Haitian musicians. Considered the most Haitian singer in Martinique, Nestor is nicknamed the prince of Kompa.
His professional career begins with an incredible boost of fate. In 1982, while attending a performance by the famous Haitian group, Magnum Band in Paris, he noticed the absence of singer Yvon Mondésir. As the group performs a song whose words they know, Nestor decides to climb onto the platform, grabs a microphone and starts singing.
Dadou PASQUET , the guitarist and singer of the group, lets go and then invites Nestor to sing other songs from the repertoire. At the end of the concert, the PASQUET brothers first invite Nestor to continue the tour with the Magnum Band and then join the group. It left for 2 years in Haiti, then 12 years in the USA (New York, Miami).
With the group Magnum Band , he records several albums and travels the world through concerts. Nestor also had the opportunity to collaborate with Georges Loubert CHANCY of the Skah-Shah group as well as with the Zenglen group in its early days.
Since 1995, Nestor has lived between the United States and Paris. He collaborated on several projects in France (ReggaeKolor by Ronald Rubinel ; in 2000, Zic Band with the FANFANT brothers , Thierry VATON , Tony CHASSEUR, Thierry DELANNAY, Albert VIGNE, Bago , etc.), together, they record the album “Ayiti Bonjou”, while continuing the tours with the Magnum Band ,
In 2007, with his brother Gabriel, Nestor completed a project several years old. Together they create “GroovNdiz”, a group which explores traditional music from the Caribbean and more particularly from Martinique. Nestor AZEROT has also had a very rich and eclectic record career (Konpa, Zouk, Traditional) and has always made live one of his priorities.
