Singer Anie Alert Joseph, was born in Cap-Haitien Haiti and made her musical debut at the age of 6 in the Adventist Church. She has participated and gained recognition at numerous talent shows throughout the Caribbean such as Digicel Stars, for which she won 2nd place. She is also the winner of the “Schoolboy Podium” in 2009, (a contest that values the talents of young Haitian artists). She won 1st place in “Challenge of the High School Students”, which takes place in Guadeloupe each year. A dozen candidates from all over the Caribbean attended it. She has worked with many musical legends such as Fabrice Rouzier, Emeline Michel, and James Germain.
She is currently recording an album, not yet titled. Her first single was released in spring 2016. Anie Alerte has already appeared in many clubs, concerts and festivals in Haiti, the USA and the Caribbean. She’s performed both as a solo artist and as part of the back up singers or alongside heavyweights diva Emeline Michel, James Germain, singers and guitarists Jean Belony Murat (Bélo) and Jean Jean Roosevelt, Zouk artist Thierry Cham, Rutshelle Guillaume, and even President Michel Martelle, (Sweet Micky).
Many female artists have always complained about the way they started their career in Haitian music. Some of them have not succumbed to the misfortunes of this field and can testify to this today. But another part of them prematurely put an end to their career as artists when they have just started it. Anie Alerte stands out from these categories of women who have given up for lack of supervision or support. She is one of the singers who have nothing to envy anyone as well as those stars who have climbed the path to success.
Living in New York where she is pursuing her higher education, Anie had a remarkable career before the release in 2016 of her single “ Pi bon zanmi ”. From an early age, she immediately began to invest in the musical field. To speak of her artistic evolution would be to highlight the pivotal periods of the young woman.
In 2008, she came out second winner of the national Digicel Stars competition, she was 14 years old at the time, this tele-hook opened the doors of a great professional career to her. His dynamism and vocal maturity led to his participation in the singing competitions entitled “Schoolchildren podium, high school students challenge, high school students podium” bringing together thirteen countries. Always on the hunt for other prizes, she gave herself body and soul to these competitions which were to crown her in 2009 winner in Guadeloupe and 2nd best voice in Guyana.
Working under the protective wings of the queen of Creole song Emeline Michel, Anie acquires maturity day by day in everything. She had some strong moments that made her lucky. Not many female artists of the same caliber as Anie have a whole team of stars embracing her and helping her grow. In 2011, Yole Dérose, whom she adores for her legendary temperance, invited her to participate in “Haiti heart of women”, a musical show featuring a dozen voices.
The performances of the female voice of “ Se paskem renmenware of high caliber, his voice carries charisma, his style is emulated, it evolves over time. Anie has already shaken up the international scene with her performances. It is not allowed for any artist to impose herself as she is used to doing. She certainly has talent, but not associating a stroke of luck with what she has achieved so far would be lying at all levels. His talent is not the only tool that allowed him to collect such a feat. There are many who are as talented as her who cannot present themselves to a foreign audience. Here in Haiti, there is no shortage of talent. Many of us make the same point. A set of Stars have opened their arms to her, but is she taking full advantage of these opportunities?
The answers to this question are very controversial. Artists, animators and fans share the same opinion regarding this career that she is developing. She doesn’t have any albums to her credit yet. We don’t know when she will give birth to one, but we’re all a little confused about Anie’s future, the chances she didn’t take well and her popularity which is in full swing.
Anie Alerte Joseph is just a thorn in a giant talented plant, a too lucky thorn.
