Stephanie Guillaume is a diverse and charismatic singer, actress and professional dancer better known by her stage name Steffy Bee. Steffy Bee was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti until she immigrated to the United States with her family an early age. The very ambitious Stephanie enrolled in drama school at American Musical and Dramatic Academy; there, she studied many disciplines but she concentrated in musical acting. She pushed herself with the hope that one day her hard work would give birth to one of her many aspirations in the world of performing arts.
At the age of 15, the multitalented young woman was signed with two agencies that helped her grow and develop a modeling career. Her cadence and adeptness on the runway won the attention of many gurus in the entertainment Industry. Subsequently, Stephanie started earning modeling and movie contracts. She was starred in many music videos and TV shows and has had the privilege to work with artists such as Juel Santana, Cameron, 50 Cent, Floetry, to name a few; she did a few commercials as well as catalogue. When asked about her most memorable experience in the entertainment industry, she grinned and said “I enjoyed being on set surrounded by actors of Law & Order, Sex in the City” She then continued “from my early childhood; I wanted to be a superstar, an entertainer. I love it all!”
As much as she enjoyed the international scene, Stephanie’s heart still remained in Haitian entertainment industry. She hosted many TV shows including “Cabane Creole” and “Telemix”. Her acting career started to evolve after she stole the heart of a producer during doing a music video, she was casted to play the lead role in her first movie entitled “Madame ou Mademoiselle”. Soon thereafter, she appeared in
“Divorce & consequences”, played supporting role in “The final call”, as well as lead in “Inseparable”. Stephanie is a multi-talented young lady who never stops to work hard to be the best she can be “I always strive to be the best at what I do, I am a perfectionist.” She told an interviewer. She was nominated and won the award for best new actress of 2011 for her latest movie “Pwofon Lanmou” in which she played the lead character. “Music is my first love” said Steffy during an interview. Despite her many contributions to performing arts, she never gave up on her love for music. She was signed with an all female band “Manmzel” in which she was the lead singer and later performed with Zin, Dekwochay, and King Kino, ect… She has been on records with China Blak, Mecca Grimo, Mayer Morrisette and she has also worked with a few well known producers such as Jocel Almeus, Jean Max Valcourt who has an all female album coming out in which he featured Steffy, Khalil from Buggha Basement, Jimmy Rock from the Fugees.
Steffy is now working on taking her music career to a new altitude. She said: “I am the new voice of our industry; I want to make music that will live, music that will make people sing, dance and feel.” Steffy is a very exceptional woman and a very inspirational artist. One of her goals is to touch the younger generation through her arts.
