Born in Petit-Goâve, Haiti, Vanessa Désiré is a singer-songwriter celebrated for her soulful voice, powerful stage presence, and her ability to blend modern R&B and Afro-Caribbean sounds with Haitian musical roots. She first gained national attention at just sixteen years old when she competed in the Digicel Stars singing competition, winning second place in the third edition.

Vanessa’s early career included the release of her debut single and music video “Mwen Pa Antò” (I’m Not Wrong) in 2012. She also collaborated with leading Haitian hip-hop and compas artists such as Baky, Wendyyy, Klib, and toured across Haiti performing in cities such as Léogâne, Petit-Goâve, Ouanaminthe, Les Cayes, Cap-Haïtien, Gonaïves, Saint-Marc, and Port-de-Paix.

At age eighteen she stepped back briefly to refine her musical direction and repertoire. Two years later she returned to the studio to record her first album, entering a new phase of maturity and artistic clarity. Her music explores themes of love, identity, resilience, and Haitian pride, delivered in both Haitian Creole and English.

In recent years Vanessa has elevated her artistry through a high-profile collaboration with Antonny Drew. Their joint single “Se Ou Li Yé”, released in 2025, demonstrates her versatility and appeal across genres and audiences. The music video for the track has attracted significant attention and underscores her rising influence in the Haitian and international music markets.

Today, Vanessa remains active in the Haitian music industry: she continues to release new music, perform live both locally and internationally, and engage a growing fan base across digital platforms. She is committed to evolving her sound while staying rooted in her culture and true to her audience. Vanessa Désiré is fast becoming one of Haiti’s most dynamic and respected contemporary female artists.
