D.P Express started in 1974, when new generations of Haitian musicians were on the rise. D.P released their first album in 1975, named “M’PA PRAN KONTAK”pure roots of Haitian music. As the year went on, D.P Express became one of the most popular konpa bands in Haitian music history.
The creators of the band: Lesly Dauphin, (singer), Robert Herrisse “Porky” (Bass), Herve Bleus (singer), Eddy Wooley (Guitar), Claude Marcelin “(Guitar), Almando Keslin (Drummer), Claudy Fremond (keyboard), Pierro Kersaint (Tamtam), Frantz Pierre Giles (trumpet) ,Ernst Georges (trombone) and Phillipe Denis (gong).
