Artist Birtday : 10/01/1992(Age 33)
Born In : Haiti/USA
Occupation(s) : Singer

Isemylee Camille, better known simply as Isemylee, was born on January 10, 1992 in Cité Soleil, Port-au-Prince, and grew up in a household that pulsed with music and church choirs. By the time she could speak she was already belting hymns at her local congregation, astonishing the adults around her with the power in her voice. At fifteen she immigrated to the United States, settling in Palm Beach, Florida, intent on turning childhood dreams of stardom into a professional life in music.

Early online rise

Like many singers of her generation, Isemylee found her first global audience online. She began posting covers and homemade originals to YouTube in 2008 on a channel that eventually racked up more than a million video views before hackers forced her to start over. The setback did little to slow her momentum; her current channel still pulls steady traffic, and on Instagram she now entertains more than 290 000 followers under the playful self-tag “Chocolate Barbie,” a nickname she coined for herself.

First releases and stylistic blend

Drawing on Haitian konpa, zouk, R&B and Afro-pop, she dropped the zouk-tinged single “Mare’m” with Flav in June 2019, followed that autumn by “Lanmou Intèdi” and the English-language ballad “Let Me.” All three songs introduced a breezy but emotionally direct songwriting voice that critics compared to early Rihanna. Her 2020 track “Make Love to You” showed a softer R&B edge, while “Obsede” (2023) pivoted to a darker, kizomba-leaning groove and became an underground hit in Haitian clubs from Miami to Montréal.

Breakthrough with Trillion Records

Isemylee’s breakout year arrived in 2024 when she signed with the Miami-based indie label Trillion Records. The partnership produced “Bad With Me,” an Afro-zouké single released on April 26 that cracked several Caribbean streaming charts. Two months later she teamed with producer-singer Teslah for the steamy duet “One Night Stand,” delivered on June 26. In March 2025 she scored her first Spotify New Music Friday placement with “Sans Fin,” a silky konpa crossover featuring Haiti’s Troubleboy Hitmaker and again released through Trillion Records.

“Pop Princess” brand and influences

ReverbNation once introduced her as “Haiti’s own Pop Princess,” a title the singer proudly embraced, updating it to “Haitian Pop Princess” in her bios. She cites Whitney Houston as her vocal north star, with Brandy and Beyoncé shaping her phrasing, and you can hear those influences in the clean melismatic runs that punctuate songs like “Love Me, Love Me” and “Pa Kriye.” Although Haitian Creole remains her lyrical home, she writes and sings fluently in English and French, gaining smaller but loyal pockets of listeners in West Africa and France.

Parallel career in nursing and advocacy

Away from the stage Isemylee is a licensed ICU nurse, holding an RN-BSN and, according to Florida licensing records, an advanced practice credential in psychiatric and mental health nursing. She often blends her two callings, using TikTok and Instagram reels to celebrate Black and Haitian nurses while promoting mental-health awareness among Caribbean immigrants

Today

Now 33, Isemylee toggles between Florida hospital shifts and festival stages from Miami to Paris, intent on finishing her long-gestating debut EP while plotting a summer tour of Haitian diaspora communities. Whether she is trading melodies with konpa heavyweights or comforting a patient in the ICU, she embodies the dual spirit of Haitian tenacity and American hustle that first inspired her to write songs back in Port-au-Prince.
