A$AP Rocky Found Not Guilty in Hollywood Assault Case

A$AP Rocky Found Not Guilty in Hollywood Assault Case

After months of legal battles and heated courtroom exchanges, A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty in his felony assault case. The Harlem rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was facing serious charges after former friend and A$AP Mob affiliate A$AP Relli accused him of firing a gun at him during a heated dispute in Hollywood in November 2021.

Rocky, who has maintained his innocence from the start, was facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted. However, after just three hours of deliberation, the jury delivered a not guilty verdict on both felony counts, clearing the rapper of all charges.

The Incident, From Friends to Foes

The case stemmed from an alleged altercation between A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli, Terell Ephron, a former friend and member of the A$AP Mob collective. According to Relli, the two met up in a Hollywood parking lot on November 6, 2021, to resolve some long-standing issues. However, what was supposed to be a conversation allegedly turned into a violent confrontation.

Relli claimed that Rocky pulled out a gun and fired two shots, with one bullet allegedly grazing his hand. However, Rocky’s legal team debunked this claim, stating that the gun in question was a prop used in a music video and that no real shots were ever fired.

Rocky, on the other hand, denied ever firing a weapon and suggested that Relli was fabricating the story for financial gain. His legal team also argued that there was no physical evidence proving Rocky ever had a real firearm, and surveillance footage from the area was inconclusive.

Inside the Courtroom, Rocky’s Fate in the Jury’s Hands

The trial was filled with dramatic testimony, including from Relli himself, who claimed he was left traumatized by the alleged shooting. Prosecutors painted Rocky as the aggressor, while his defense attorneys argued that the entire case was built on unreliable claims.

In the end, the jury sided with Rocky, concluding that there was not enough evidence to convict him.

As the verdict was read, Rocky was visibly emotional, reportedly embracing his legal team and family members. In a brief statement outside the courthouse, he said, “Justice prevailed today. Thank you to my legal team, my family, and everyone who stood by me.”

Rihanna’s Unwavering Support

Throughout the trial, Rihanna stood firmly by Rocky’s side. The singer, who shares two children with him, was present at multiple hearings and remained a constant source of support throughout the legal process. Following the verdict, she was seen hugging Rocky outside the courtroom, relieved that the ordeal was finally over.

What’s Next for A$AP Rocky?

With the legal battle now behind him, A$AP Rocky can finally turn his focus back to music and business ventures. The rapper has hinted at a new album in the works, and fans are eagerly waiting for his next move.

Meanwhile, Relli has not indicated whether he plans to appeal or pursue additional legal action in civil court.

For now, A$AP Rocky walks away a free man, ready to put this chapter behind him and move forward.
