Professor of music theory, saxophone and clarinet, he obtained his musical knowledge at the industrial school of his hometown Jacmel. From 1939 to 1949, he played the clarinet in the orchestra of the National Palace under the direction of Captain Luc Jean Baptiste. Maestro Saint Aude, who had known him since 1939, recognized his value. Marcel has shone in Jazz Atomique, Jazz Chancy and in the symphony orchestras Heinz Brahm and Robert Durand. In 1949, Marcel Bichotte became a permanent member of the Jazz Des Jeunes, he remained there with Des jeunes until the age where he became a pensioner in the State of New York.
He obtained his retirement in 1982 and on November 20 of that same year, he returned to the paradise he had left in 1969 to live in peace of heart, peace of mind. But however, his father made him come up there, on October 22, 1993, not to return there. His remains were transported to Brooklyn, New York and burial took place on October 30, 1993.
