BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) — A man wanted in a Boynton Beach murder case is back in the United States after escaping to Haiti.

U.S. Marshals and Haitian National Police took Caslyn Darinus, 23, into custody on December 12th.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest back in August following the robbery and murder of 46-year old  Walson Alcide.

Authorities found Alcide dead inside a Boynton Beach home located at 3211 N. Seacrest Boulevard.

Following the murder, police say, Darinus made his way to New York and later to Haiti.

He was extradited from Haiti to Florida on Friday. Once he arrived, he was booked into Palm Beach County jail.

He is now facing charges for first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, home invasion robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Another person was also charged in the case. Junior Volcy, 33, with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, home invasion robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm.

1440740967972A West Palm Beach man is charged with murder in connection to a Boynton Beach shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

Boynton Beach police arrested Junior Volcy, 33, on Wednesday.

Police said Volcy entered a house at 3211 N. Seacrest Boulevard just after noon on Monday wearing a mask and brandishing two guns. With him was Caslyn Darnius, 23, police said.

Volcy told the three people in the living room to get on the floor and demanded cash, according to the arrest report. Darnius began going through the cabinets and drawers in the house.

One of the men inside, Walson Alcide, refused to listen to Volcy. The two began to fight and Alcide was shot in the chest, according to the report. Another man inside the house, Nelson Collin, was shot in the abdomen.

Alcide was pronounced dead at the scene while Collin was transported to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Volcy and Darnius ran off, police said, leaving a woman in the living room and another woman in a bedroom unharmed. The woman who witnessed the shooting told police she recognized Volcy because the two went to school together in Haiti and had seen each other since moving to Boynton Beach. It’s unclear how she recognized the masked Volcy.

Law enforcement has been trying to track down Volcy for almost a year. In September, deputies said Volcy robbed a convenience store clerk in Lake Worth after posing as a customer.

Volcy pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot the clerk, deputies said. The clerk and another customer who were inside the store were ushered to the back while Volcy and an unidentified man rummaged through the cash register.

They were able to get away with $7,000 in cash, deputies said. For that crime, Volcy faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and armed burglary.

Volcy faces additional charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, home-invasion robbery and aggravated assault for Monday’s shooting. Darnius has not been arrested.

Volcy was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail where he is being held without bail.
