New York Assembles for Dola Music’s NEW YORK TIME. At long last, DOLA MIZIK second studio album is making its way to North America and the rest of the world after creating a frenzy in Europe and is currently growing strong in the French Caribbean market.
New York, N.Y., Monday, July 2, 2012 – The New York based band DOLA MIZIK and Afrique Caraïbes Productions (ACP) are pleased to announce the world wide release of the new album, NEW YORK TIME. The album has officially been released in both CD and digital format and is currently in stores and online on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up to “Brasse,” DOLA MIZIK’s debut album back in 2008 which was received with critical acclaim. Now with new lead singers Clinton Benoit, Paul Borno POLO, and Jean Max Valcourt: band leader, keyboardist & singer, Pierre Mary Jean Francois: bass, Jean Marie Casimir: congas, Phillipe Michel: percussion, Jean Riche Damour: guitar, Stanley Jean: drums, Roberto Jabouin aka Bobby Jamz: rapper, the band returns with its sophomore album, NEW YORK TIME. The album which was recorded and mixed by Jean Max Valcourt, at Maximum Studios, in Brooklyn, New York., (CD/digital) comprises twelve tracks that capture the band’s unique sound and live energy.

DOLA MIZIK keeps an emphasis on the traits that define Compas music decades ago, pair with some eclectic influences. DOLA MIZIK have made a name for themselves on the Haitian music scene, with their tight, high-energy shows; Now they are poised to delight their fan base with a collection of original new tunes that evoke and combine the melodious vibe of the 90’s and the psyched musical arrangements of this current decade, along with present day inspiration and modern recording techniques.

The album opens with “NEW YORK TIME”, a song that signifies the long struggle the New York market has endured for the past 10 years due to lack of new and innovative sounds.

Other highlights include “Player No More” – a duet in which a very apologetic Clinton Benoit begs for the forgiveness of his love interest for all of his past love tryst. In this track, he is joined on lead vocals with Martine Marseille.

In “Wake Up” DOLA MIZIK offers some inspirational words of hope and highlights the resilience of the Haitian people who were victims of the January 12, 2010 earthquake of a 7.0 magnitude which claimed hundreds of thousands lives, leaving even more injured and homeless.
